Iran has decided to build a railway line Project without the help of India. Iran has separated India from the Chabahar Rail Project due to delay in funding. Iran had signed an agreement with India four years ago for this project. The Iranian Government has withdrawn from the project due to delay in funding from India.
The agreement was signed between India and Iran in 2016. The project included construction of a 628 KM long railway line. According to Indian media, Iran will not depend on India for the development of this project. Iran will utilize 400 Billion Dollar from the National Development fund. In the future, the railway line will be connected with Afghanistan. This project is expected to be completed in March 2022.
The Congress party of India hit the ruling party BJP government at the fallout of the deal. It stated that the removal of deal by Iran is a big loss for India.
