Shafqat Mahmood about education & exams today
In the latest meeting held on today in Islamabad, Shafqat Mahmood Federal Education Minister of Pakistan has announced that classes from 9th to 12th are going to resume from Monday, 19 April 2021 in corona-affected districts. Ministry of education has made this decision of resuming the classes for the continuation of teaching and the preparation of Board exams.
Following decisions are taken in today’s meeting with the full consensus of the education and health ministers of all provinces including Gilgit Baltistan & AJK.
Classes will be resumed with 50% attendance on alternate days in the Corona Hotspot districts by following the complete SOPs. Continuing the education process is very necessary. Action will be taken against those who will violate the SOPs set by the government.

After the meeting held today, Shafqat Mahmood said that Board exams for the classes from 9th to 12th will be conducted according to the new schedule which will be issued very soon, but exams will not be started before the last week of May.
However, O-Level, A-Level & AS exams will be conducted as per the schedule already announced by the authority. Dates of Cambridge exams will not be postponed nor will be canceled. Students, who want to take exams in October / November this year, may take the exam in the already submitted exam fee
Shafqat Mahmood further said that online classes will be continued in the COVID-19 affected districts as per the decision of the last meeting held in NCOC Islamabad. As soon as the covid spread rate goes down less than 8%, physical classes will be resumed quickly.
It is decided for the classes from 1st to 8th will remain closed till Eid-ul-Fitr.
Moreover, he said that the new admissions schedule in the educational institutes will be decided after the examinations.
