Student must know about the test where he/she wants to take admission. He/She must know about the test e.g when and where it will be held? What type of questions will be in entry test? Which subjects are needed to prepare? What will be the question’s percentage of each subject? What will be the level of difficulty? How much time will be required to solve a question? Students must have complete information about the syllabus and format of the test.
It is main responsibility of teachers to provide the relevant information to there students about test for which they are going to appear.
Students must know it is the test of knowledge. It is totally different from Exams in which they have already appeared. One can get good score in those exam if has good memory. But entry test assesses the overall thinking and understanding skills.
In mostly entry test, all questions are multiple choice questions with only one best answer. Best answer is one which is conceptually right. So conceptual study is required for getting remarkable score in entry test exam. Concept means use logic to understand the problem clearly.
Students get best score if they have good practice of solving mcq’s in appropriate time. If student is good in knowledge and concept but work too slow with the test then will not able to finish the test in time which result low score. Similarly the students who attempt the test in haste, commit blunders. It is teacher’s duty to train the students to utilize the test time effectively .
Entry test needs work over controlling nerves while attempting the test . It is also test of emotional quotient. it is observed students gets confuse during test when find questions against their expectations. Some time the students who know answers of mostly questions, commits blunder due to over confidence. Since maintaining emotional control throughout the test does effect the performance.
